Sarah didn’t grow up competing in pageants. Softball was her thing.
But after being encouraged by her friends and family to try competing, she took up the challenge. And for the last several years, she has done well.
Very well, in fact.
In November 2015, the senior mass communications major from West Monroe was crowned Miss University of Louisiana Monroe (or Miss ULM).
This victory has given her the opportunity to compete on a much larger stage. On June 23-25, Sarah will be a contestant in the Miss Louisiana pageant alongside 31 other contestants. The winner of this pageant will serve as the representative of the state of Louisiana in the Miss America pageant, which will be held in Atlantic City in September.
Last weekend, we had the opportunity to photograph Sarah. She has a wonderful personality, steers away from conformity, and is true to herself. Meghan and I had a blast getting to know her story, and we wish her all the best next month. Here are a few photos from the session.
